General Foreman - Highways Improvement Scheme


Are you an experienced and skilled leader in the construction industry? Are you passionate about delivering high-quality highway improvement projects? Our client is currently seeking a General Foreman to join a dynamic team and oversee a challenging highways improvement scheme.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing transportation infrastructure and making a lasting impact on communities.


Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, ensuring project objectives are met within budget and time constraints.
Coordinate and supervise the activities of subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project specifications and safety regulations.
Monitor progress and quality of work, identifying any issues or deviations and implementing corrective measures as required.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure efficient resource allocation and resolve technical challenges.

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and promote a culture of safety among the workforce.

Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including production reports, equipment usage, and workforce attendance.
Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among crew members.


Requirements:


Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar role in the construction industry, with a focus on highways or infrastructure projects.

In-depth knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and safety regulations.
Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and guide a diverse team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
Relevant certifications and licenses, such as CSCS, SMSTS, or SSSTS, are highly desirable.
Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
