Description

The Systems Administrator at WRAP is responsible for the administration, security and support of the company's information systems, services, data, directory services and provision of 2nd line user support.

It requires someone who is a skilled technical IT leader - someone who can design technology outcomes that support business strategy, take technical leadership for transformation projects whilst also managing stakeholder relationships and develop/mentor/upskill a team.


The Systems Administrator is responsible for:

  • Administration and maintenance of WRAP's virtual and physical information and technology infrastructure.
  • Acting as the technical authority for the IT infrastructure, providing ongoing support and guidance to staff.
  • Installation, configuration, and management of core infrastructure services both in the cloud and on premises including Active Directory and Azure Active directory and the full suite of Microsoft 365 products.
  • Working with the IT & Business Systems Manager and wider stakeholders to decide on the strategic technical direction of WRAP's IT systems.
  • Close management of tasks and routines outsourced to Managed Service Providers (MSP), feeding back where service improvements are expected and being the key contact for MSP communication.
  • Administration of and responsibility for IT security, including all service providers.
  • Providing 2nd line support to the team when necessary
  • Management of data stores, capacity planning and forecasting of future infrastructure needs, including any cloud infrastructure requirements.
  • Maintenance and monitoring the health of WRAP's Systems both in the cloud and on premises.
  • Responsibility for access control, privileged access, and guest access to the WRAP technical environment.
  • Supervision of outside parties accessing WRAP technical environment for maintenance or consultative purposes.
  • Manging performance tuning and maintenance of server operating systems and physical management of all data centres.
  • Monitoring and investigation of all systems both in the cloud and on premises.
  • Performing routine backups and archival of files stored within WRAP to assist with disaster recovery.
  • Testing & deployment of Security & Critical Patches to Operating and Application Systems as required.

What you will need:
- demonstrable experience in using and deploying Microsoft 365 portfolio of cloud products


Particularly:
SharePoint Online, Azure AD, Endpoint Manager.

  • Proven expertise in Windows server administration.
  • Used to managing a diverse group of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • Has led transformative technical projects.
  • Has managed and mentored IT teams in a way that develops and upskills their capability.
This Role will be based out of WRAP's Cardiff office, with travel to other WRAP offices as required. We've moved to hybrid working here at WRAP.

Although this role is contractually based in our Cardiff office in reality you will be able to work from home, with the caveat of coming into the office to collaborate with your teams as and when you need to, this includes our London base (postcode N1).

You, your manager, and your teams will have the freedom to decide when this will need to happen, but when it is agreed it will be important that you do attend the office.
