Financial Controller vacancy - Hybrid Working 2 / 3 days in the office

The business is a highly successful manufacturing company in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

With UK turnover in excess of £170m, but part of a £1bn turnover group, the business is currently experiencing growth and as such is seeking to strengthen its financeteam.

Managing and overseeing the financial reporting, commercial accounting and AP/AR functions of a business in Central Bedfordshire. Responsible for maintaining and implementing financial control and driving improvements to financial processes.

Reporting into the UK Finance Director:
Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daytoday running and financial management of the business including oversight of general ledger postings and transactions.
  • Management of five direct reports.
  • Supervision of the month end process and the production of monthly management accounts.
  • Review of monthly management accounts including detailed monthly P&L reviews and challenge of balance sheet reconciliations, leading to the identification of risks and opportunities. Responsible for ensuring that applicable accounting standards are beingadhered to.
  • Producing accurate and insightful MI and KPI analysis.
  • Production of departmental/segmental P&L reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Budgeting and preparation of monthly board packs
  • Ensure Fixed Assets and HP reconciliations are updated and maintained.
  • Review of monthly VAT returns submitted to HMRC, including dealing with all import and export documentation.
  • Liaising with commercial/operational functions regularly regarding the financial performance of departments/segments within the business.
  • Responsible for delivering annual integrated budgets and quarterly reforecasts, as well as assisting with additional budgetary tasks.
  • Responsible for the submission of company shortterm and longterm cash flow forecasts.
  • Managing the production of and reviewing yearend audit packs before they are submitted to external auditors. Actively resolving any audit queries.
  • Adhoc tasks/projects.

Requirements:


  • Qualified accountant with 5+ year's post qualified experience.
  • Statutory and management reporting background essential. Audit trained preferred.
  • Strong communicator and leadership skills with proven experience of managing teams.
  • Manufacturing experience including stock essential
  • Ability to challenge and stand firm with senior management.
  • A selfstarter who is able to manage and prioritise deadlines as well as manage expectations upwards.
