Azure Data Engineer | London Market Insurance |
Location: 2 days p/week on site, City of London
Day Rate (Contract): £600-£700 p/day Outside IR35
Insurance or other financial services experience required.

Company client currently working with a leading insurance business looking to hire a 2 senior data engineers to join the Data team.

This is an opportunity to work with a technology and data focused Lloyd's insurer who's size demands agility and gives you the chance to help shape it's future

You will be working within the technology Engineering team to design and develop data solutions within an Azure cloud native environment.

The landscape is a greenfield environment, a new Azure and Data Lake based platform will be designed and implemented fromthe ground up, with strong skills in Azure tooling (ADF), SQL being a key requirement.

The Role:

Assist with design & development of Azure Cloud Data offerings such as Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS, Data Factory etc.
Develop, test, and iterate on MVP solutions to operationalize new features and products
Collaborate with other teams, designing and implementing integrated features
Use Azure services such as DevOps to automate code management & deployment
Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation and other project artefacts
Identify, diagnose and solve problems supporting production issues during warranty period
Participate in knowledge sharing exercise with existing team members

Key experience required:

3+ years of experience delivering cloud solutions using Azure Databricks, Delta Tables, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure VM
Experience setting up large scale real (or near real time) time data replication to Azure native storage solutions
Experience setting up resource groups, managing subscriptions, setting up permissions etc.
Solid understanding of network security groups, gateway connectivity etc.
Experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server required)
Experience of software design and development experience using Azure cloud offerings

Desirable:

Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field or work experience/certification
Experience with Qlik Replicate (Attunity) or other data replication technology is highly desirable
