Job Specification:
As a Care Assistant in our nursing home, you'll be responsible for providing compassionate care and assistance to our residents.
Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:
Personal Care:
Provide assistance with tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, respecting each resident's dignity and privacy.
Mobility Support:
Help residents with mobility needs, including transferring, walking assistance, and the use of mobility aids, ensuring their safety.
Medication Administration:
Administer medications in accordance with established protocols and ensure accurate documentation.
Emotional Support:
Develop meaningful relationships with residents, providing emotional support and social interaction to enhance their quality of life.
Activities and Recreation:
Engage residents in various activities and recreational programs that promote mental stimulation, physical exercise, and socialization.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of daily care provided, resident observations, and any changes in their condition, adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
Adherence to Policies and Procedures:
Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
Qualifications:
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and other care team members.
Empathy and Patience:
Ability to empathize with residents' needs, establish trust, and demonstrate patience in providing care and assistance.
Teamwork:
Willingness to work collaboratively with other care staff and professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
Flexibility:
Ability to adapt to varying schedules and the changing needs of residents and the organization.
Safeguarding Awareness:
Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.
