Summary of Main Purpose of Role:
This role will be to teach and lead tutorials across the Travel and Aviation Opps FE Programmes, supporting the wide range of qualifications available

In addition to the role of Lecturer, additional responsibility for the following:

  • Promote outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across FE and work with teaching teams to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Support quality assurance for the curriculum area including assessment, internal and external quality assurance work.
  • Ensure attendance and retention KPI's are met through student facing tutorials and attendance monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and Deliver industry relevant tutorial sessions.
  • Monitor student attendance and support programme leaders in implementing attendance strategies.
  • Liaise regularly with guardians in support of attendance strategies implemented across the department.
  • Contribute to the course administration of courses on which you support.
  • Develop strategies with the department leads to exceed attendance, retention and achievement KPI's
  • Prepare and deliver teaching and learning activities and resources that provide learners with a highquality experience and result in effective outcomes for learners.
  • Develop effective assessment strategies that support learners to achieve their learning aims.
  • Provide effective assessment feedback that informs progress.
  • Contribute to College processes to monitor learner progress and performance.
  • Develop external links to provide a high quality learner experience with additional activities such as trips, visits, guest lecturers.
  • Contribute to course and curriculum development.
  • Participate in quality review processes.
  • Prepare for and participate in external quality inspections e.g. Ofsted / Higher Education Review.
  • Promote high industry standards to learners and employability skills inside and outside the classroom.
  • Contribute to the learner recruitment process for the College.
  • Contribute to course team meetings.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Actively participate in learner recruitment, and contribute to planning and tracking of these processes.
  • Additional responsibilities aligned to 3 key areas as agreed with Curriculum leader.
