Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles.

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Saturday (long days).

We are looking to recruit a full time band 6 Charge Nurse for the busy QEUH RDU. The unit is open Monday - Saturday and the shifts are worked as long days.


The unit is part of the wider Greater Glasgow and Clyde Renal Services which incorporates 6 Regular dialysis units, a home therapies training unit, 2 nephrology inpatient wards, the West of Scotland kidney transplant Unit and the renal assessment unit.


We are looking for an individual who has the ability to evidence leadership experience within a team and possess a desire to contribute to the development of the service.

You will be expected to deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse in their absence and lead the nursing team and have the ability to coordinate and direct the care within the dialysis unit.


As Charge Nurse you will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient's needs, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care which are evidence based.

A high degree of clinical expertise will be evident with the ability to work to high quality clinical standards.

You are required to be flexible, forward thinking and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment and provide specialist teaching and education of junior staff.
