Business Support Services Officer**



LOCATION:
Hounslow House (7 Bath Road, Hounslow, TW3 3EB)


This is a hybrid role, at least 3 days in the office per week




PAY RATE:
13.65 PAYE





START DATE:
ASAP





DURATION:
6 Month Initial Contract


Hours:36 Hours per week. Mon-Fri.

8:45am-5pm**

PURPOSE OF ROLE:


To provide a comprehensive and flexible business support service to the Children and Adults Department ensuring a high standard of delivery and customer services.


The activities will be drawn from a service menu and tailored to the needs of individual teams and services and delivered efficiently and effectively.

This job description attempts to broadly outline the activities of the business support service. A more detailed record can be found in the Business Support Service Menu followed by all BSO staff.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
General


  • To achieve a high level of performance and effectiveness in the operational
delivery of business support services targeted towards priority services.


  • To support organisational change and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency, streamlining and automating services where possible to support Worksmart values and encourage a culture of self-sufficiency.
  • To work collaboratively and pro-actively to develop effective working relationships with departmental and corporate colleagues to ensure the highest level of customer service is delivered to Hounslow residents.
  • To support and develop partnership working, including acting as an effective ambassador for the business support service promoting a positive image of the borough and the service.
  • Work flexibly with other members of the team at all levels to ensure that workloads and key positions are covered in the event of absence or need.
Main responsibilities and tasks


  • Customer Care

1.2 Dealing confidently and constructively with enquiries in an articulate and helpful manner, taking and re-routing messages appropriately and promptly ensuring that their details are checked and recorded accurately.

1.3 Contacting organisations and service users on behalf of the operational services to request or pass on information ensuring that tact, diplomacy and confidentiality are observed at all times.

1.4 Writing simple letters and creating templates ensuring that language used is clear, concise and provides a professional image of the service.

Provide an excellent administrative business support service to residents and professionals


Be an excellent team player, aware of your colleagues' pressures and being flexible to help and support them on behalf of the service and in line with priority need.


Ensuring whether in the office or outside working, you are available for work during working hours and will come into the office on home-working days when required.

Work to make the service more efficient and effective.
