The Office of Diversity and International Programs (ODIP) facilitates three core mandates across the University. International Programing, Appropriate Sexual Behavior policy, advocacy training and compliance initiatives, and promotes campus-wide Diversity Equity and Inclusion Programing.


Job Summary:

Proactively coordinate the various International Programs and International Students Support Initiatives including study abroad, international student support, immigration regularization, international students' orientation, accelerated master's program students' support throughout the academic year.


Duration:
Maximum of six (6) months.


Responsibilities:
The primary functions of this position will include but not limited to but not limited to the following:


International Programs:


  • International Students Success Programing (Orientation: Prearrival, onsite and predeparture).
  • Regularize, International Students Immigration
  • Manage International Engagement Opportunity,
  • International Engagement Open House Program
  • Study Abroad Students Recruitment and Placement
  • Handle Host Family Program, Cultural Immersion Trips
  • Potential Partner Institution Evaluation and hosting
  • Coordinate all logístical support for ASU 4+1 students.
  • International students' documentation

Other ODIP Duties/Support:

  • Be familiar with the University's internationalization focus and objectives and assist in developing innovative international education initiatives that will help in achieving these objectives.
  • Assist the ODIP in monitoring trends in international students' adjustment and transition on campus and Ghana and contributing to the designing of programs and initiatives to support and enrich the international student experience.
  • Proactive facilitation of the processes for all international programs to make them more accessible.
  • Work with the rest of the team to hold information sessions and campus sensitization on the work of ODIP.
  • Assist with other ODIP programing e.g. Sensitivity Training, Appropriate Sexual Behavior Programing, Diversity and Inclusion Training etc.
  • Assist the international student's association in their programming.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent personal and professional presentation and ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
  • A minimum of bachelor's or master's degrees in international relations, students' affairs, higher education administration.
  • At least 2 years of experience in related positions working with international students.
  • Knowledge of international program administrative practices and procedures such as immigration regularization, international student orientation, cultural immersion programming, international students advising, study abroad programs and support etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multiethnic / multicultural environment with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • A good appreciation of diversity equity and inclusion and open to learning in a highly pressured diverse work environment.
  • A good understanding of program monitoring, evaluation and reporting is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication, presentation, poster editing and general content development for marketing purposes. This position requires the job holder to display a high level of maturity and confidentiality in handling issues. Having effective communication and good interpersonal skills is essential for this position.
