JOB PURPOSE:


DIMENSIONS:


Staff:
No direct reports but will be a point of contact for all DC / Transport related queries during working hours and will cover for Performance Team Leaders on request or in periods of absence


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Management and supervision of Delivery team drivers and fitters in Bury St Edmunds during working time.

Remote support of Maidstone Drivers on second shift during working time Conduct oneself at all times in a professional manner to promote a positive image of the Logistics function and UK Power Networks in general demonstrating the Vision and Values of the company

Take ownership of customer enquiries and/or concerns originating from the Customer Issue Log, provide efficient feedback and resolution within agreed timeframe targets

Utilise an Activity Matrix to plan and execute daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tasks

Ensure procedures, process flows and SOPs and reviewed and maintained

Deputise for the Performance Team Leaders on request or in cases of absence

Complete ad hoc duties as requested by the Performance Team Leaders


Assist the Performance Team Leaders to ensure that operational costs are kept below budget minimising additional spend on overtime, property related damage etc.

Ensure high standard of safety, compliance with all HSS and Environmental Policies. Including


Assist with the delivery of the Logistics / Network Operations Safety Plan with the principle aim of Zero Harm and reducing the likelihood of LTI's and PIM's.

Completion of ICASS inspections as per agreed targets.

Reporting of incidents through Airline

Assist with the upkeep of competency reporting ensuring annual refreshers are completed on time

Facilitate good communication with all internal / external customers


NATURE AND SCOPE:

In context of the Network Operations Continuous Improvement (MDWT Programme), the Manager or (Mini-Business Team Leader), leads and empowers the team to achieve its goals and to attain a sense of purpose


Key responsibilities include:
Facilitates the 8 minute MDWT L1 meeting.
Investigates and resolves issues raised by the Delivery Team Drivers opduring the course of normal operations
Manages non conformity log for all delivery issues
Reports and manages any facilities / transport related issues

Addresses problems or issues that impact on the team and provide improvement ideas or propose solutions.

Takes problems and innovations that cannot be solved by the MDWT L1 team to Performance Team Leader

'Walks the Talk' regarding the company Vision and Values. Frequently relates to these and explains them in terms of demonstrated behaviour.

The Storm Role for this position will be categorised as Logistics Distribution Coordinator.


ATTITUDE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Must bring a positive, confident attitude as this will lead to positive outcomes


Qualifications:

A good working knowledge and experience of Transportation legislation, use of Tachographs in HGV vehicles, warehousing and distribution operations
LGV licences and CPC desirable but not essential


Skills:

Experience in SAP Warehouse Management systems
Knowledge of Logistics internal policies, processes, and databases
Knowledge of Mission Directed Work program / continuous improvement initiatives
Able to sell ideas to teams and managers
Excellent communication skills
