We are currently looking for a Goods Inwards Inspector to join the team at our Warrington site The Goods Inwards Inspector role will report directly to the Quality Manager.

This role requires checking that incoming material meets all customer requirements and to ensure it remains fully traceable.- Key responsibilities:

  • Quality inspection of incoming materials in accordance with the quality system & procedures
  • MRP transfer of passed goods into stock
  • Quarantine, inspection and processing of nonconforming materials
  • Receipt and inspection of customer returned goods
  • Raising Non Conformance Records within the system where appropriate
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive the implementation of mistake proofing to eliminate and preventative actions
  • Complete a "5Why" for any "Repeat" or "Escape" nonconformance
  • Implement any relevant Quality checks and measures
  • Mark and tag defective components as necessary
  • Ensure all stock is handled in a way as to minimise the risk of damage while in inspection area
  • Where required:
  • Supporting supplier audits
  • Stock taking where required
  • Other warehouse activities including receipting and picking
  • General housekeeping including the goods inwards bay, quarantined goods and returned goods
  • Implement any relevant Quality checks and measures
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Knowledge/Skills required:
  • HNC or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings (where appropriate, support will be provided where necessary from Engineering department)
  • Experience of lean principles
  • Be able to work in an organised way with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good teamworking skills and attitude
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft software
  • Experience of using SAP systems where applicable
  • Inspecting materials using measurement techniques
  • We are looking for someone with experience in the above but would consider a Engineering graduate as we think this would be a fantastic role for someone recently graduated
