Master Data Responsible:


The SAP Master Data Coordinator will be responsible for Master Data input, maintenance, alignment, and integration across all areas of the Business.


This role will work in tandem with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and any other applicable stakeholders, ensuring accurate input, alignment, management, and integration of master data and related datasets.


The Master Data Coordinator will translate functional business requirements into items, related item attributes, taxonomies, and other related master data components.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for inputting and maintaining all master data across the business (materials, pricing, customers, vendors etc)
  • SAP Code Resolution maintenance (SAP-CR), in coordination with Customer Service and Engineering departments
  • Executes the processes for raw material introduction in SAP (externally procured materials, manufactured raw materials and subcomposition introduction) according to the rules and guidelines provided
  • Executes the processes for continuous improvement and material data maintenance in SAP, data cleansing (e.g. status change, change of valuation classes and procurement type changes) and extensions of existing material data in production plants/Sales organizations
  • Work with the project team implementing TeamCenter and Master Data integration
  • Ensures adherence to processes and standards; enforces process compliance in own area
  • Support to commercial users in material area, including verification of materials, issue detection and troubleshooting, mass maintenance
  • Coordination with the core SAP material data segments owners (Export Control, Purchasing, Finance, QA, etc)
  • Coordination with the key global functions in the material management area (e.g. Supply Pattern, regulatory and SCIN). working the Global Sales team on ensuring master data integrity (as we own our data in global systems).
  • Proactive support to colleagues in other Wartsila data maintenance organizations as required
  • Provide advice and guidance internally on process/requirements
  • Active participation in process improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and attributes:


  • Process Driven and data centric, with a strong attention to detail
  • Technically minded with a keen eye for accuracy and control
  • Well organised and able to prioritise workload.
  • Selfsufficient, but able to engage others across the business and provide advice and guidance as required.
  • Good IT skills. Ideally familiar with SAP or other ERP systems, or willing to learn.
