The successful applicants will work in the Talking Therapies service whilst also attending Nottingham University for 2 days per week to study for a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
The successful Trainees will provide treatment for people in the self-management of their common mental health problems through NICE recommended protocols whilst studying to attain the CBT qualification.
Trainees will study at B6 and rise to B7 on successful completion of the course and will be asked to sign a contract binding them to work for the Trust for 2 years after qualifying.
Please note that you will need to hold a degree, plus a Professional qualification such as Clinical Psychologist, Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychological Therapy or be able to provide evidence of meeting the Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) requirements of the BABCP.
Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, and signpost clients who require other services on to the relevant service as necessary.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times
Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CBT and other agreed psychological therapies
Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development
Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager
Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives

Responsibilities for direct/indirect patient careContribute to specialised programmes of care/care packages/ provide specialised advice concerning care
Assess, develop & implement specialist psychological interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines.
Provide advice in specialist area
To utilise theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence based practice in individual work and work with other team members.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, vulnerable adults and people experiencing domestic abuse, both as service users and visitors to Trust premises.
To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the services operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit.
To use computers to write reports and record data
To use resources in the most beneficial way to service users, based on their need
Responsibilities for human resources (including training)
To receive regular clinical professional supervision.
