Education & prof qual:


Essential criteria:


  • Degree in IT or an applied science (Biology, Radiography,Physics) or equivalent NHS
  • PACS/RIS administration experience

Desirable criteria:


  • Requires knowledge of hospital computer systems, radiology modalities and IT or equivalent experience.

Experience:


Essential criteria:


  • Knowledge and experience with NHS Targets and Care pathways
  • Substantial experience in the system administration of the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) and it's management during downtime (both planned and unplanned)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Patient Administration System (PAS)

Desirable criteria:


  • Advanced Organisational skills
  • Ability to work singlehanded
  • Ability to make decisions and work unsupervised
  • Able to train others and explain tasks and to delegate work as appropriate
  • Experience in performing Quality Assurance tests and management data
  • Experience in dealing with third party providers in outsourcing of radiology reporting

Skills and Aptitude:


Essential criteria:


  • Ability to work independently and also within a team
  • Ability to prioritise and organise demands and multitask.
  • Com Computers (Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Excellent time keeping skills, resilient and able to prioritise and multitask
  • Willing to take direction and learn from more experienced colleagues
  • Knowledge and Understanding of clinical governance and GDPR
  • Good Clinical knowledge especially the anatomy of the skeleton and medical terminology

  • To created Standard Operating Procedures and new pathways of working
  • Excellent Presentation and Communication skills
  • Good knowledge of IT Terminology, networks, servers and interoperability

  • Knowledge of patient care and NHS patient workflow

  • Knowledge of PACS/RIS software (DICOM/IEP/CRIS/)
