We have great opportunities for Mechanical Inspectors to work on complex, innovative and world leading projects such as Typhoon, Hawk, F-35 and Tempest.
Join us and you will be working alongside other functions to deliver products that will be in service for 40+ years and be continually upgraded to maintain Customers Air Defence capabilities.
As a Mechanical Inspector, you could be conducting inspection activities across a wide range of products covering the full production lifecycle from detail manufacturing, minor and major assemblies, final assembly to acceptance and delivery to customers.
What you'll be doing:
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards, supporting quality gates and the approved operator systems
- Maintaining product documentation, data integrity and certification of product, to assure product safety and process control
- Awareness of Safety Health and Environment (SHE) procedures necessary for the safe functioning of the team
- Promoting the error management system and having knowledge of human factors within the working environment
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Advanced Engineering Craft Apprenticeship with associated NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Understanding of Tool Control, Tool calibration and Foreign Object Debris (F.O.D.) procedures
- Experience in the use of aircraft tooling and measuring equipment in the production of close tolerance components and the necessary regulated standards
Desirable
- Experience working with military aircraft
- Previous Inspection experience
We are looking for someone who has an all-round appreciation for aircraft systems, who is an excellent team worker and communicator.
- These roles will be available to start throughout 2023 and may involve working on a shift rota which could include days, nights and weekends and flexibility is crucial for success in this role._
