We have consistently set ourselves apart from our competitors in the flexible packaging market by developing and improving on material specifications, ink usage and, more recently, developing compostable and more sustainable packaging solutions.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a _buying assistant _to closely support the production processes at our Dundee site.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main duties and responsibilities are:
- Sourcing and buying materials, engineering and site consumables;
- Negotiating, preparing and finalising contracts with suppliers ensuring complacence with company policy and in line with company objectives.
- Invoice matching and authorisation.
- Planning and developing new and improved sources of supply for current and future needs, ensuring robust supply chains are maintained.
- Producing monthly management reports on stock usage and price movements;
- Submitting and negotiating supplier claims;
- Manage stock levels including stock taking.
- Monitoring supplier performance and escalating problems to relevant departments.
Qualifications
- A CIPS qualification or studying towards would be advantageous but not essential. Support can be given to those looking to gain this qualification.
This role benefits from a high degree of autonomy giving the buyer the responsibility to improve current and future buying processes.
Experience
- Previous buying / procurement experience is preferred but not essential.
- Competent IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams) are essential.

- Excellent analytical and decisionmaking skills.
Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience. Other benefits include 34 days' holiday and contributory pension scheme.
