Production Team Leader to join the Weavergate chemical manufacturing site
.


As a Production Team Leader you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the chemical manufacturing site, managing a production shift to ensure the production plan is met while guaranteeing safety and quality.

What You Will Do
:


  • Manage the daily manufacturing operations of shifts to ensure that the manufacturing plan is executed in a manner that meets or exceeds safety, quality and cost objectives.
  • Manage shift capabilities and resources to Production, Laboratory and Waste Water Treatment Plant to meet business demands
  • Manage team absences, performance and conduct including completing return to work meetings, investigations and first line disciplinaries
  • Be the operational point of contact for the shift
  • Conduct and review PP&D's for each team member
  • Take ownership of the shop floor Performance Control System and foster a continuous improvement mentality within the team
  • Actively communicate progress on the production plan to the relevant stakeholders, be proactive in communicating safety, maintenance and quality issues, or other situations which may have an impact
  • Report and record relevant KPIs as part of daily routine
  • Ensure shift is working to all personal safety, process safety and HACCP site standards
  • Spend approx. 80% of time on the shop floor with a focus on day to day problem resolution as well as identifying reoccurring losses to be prevented
  • Deputise for Production Manager when required
  • Stock management of production consumables
  • Member of the Emergency Response Time
  • Act as Deputy Site Incident Controller
  • Competent person and Duty Manager (Oncall rotation)
  • Loss analysis and improvement project participation using TPM tools such as root cause analysis (RCA, 5 Why's, OPL's, SOP's, Risk Assessments etc.)
  • Act as deputy or leader of Autonomous Maintenance and 5S pillar teams, member of SHE committee if required
  • Multitask providing support across departments
  • Other duties as assigned

Work week and shift: Monday
  • Friday with shift hours alternating 62 and 19.

Required Qualifications/Experience
:


  • University degree or chemical qualification or minimum 4 years industrial experience where you have demonstrated the above skills

Preferred Qualifications/Experience
:


  • 35 years of experience working in a leadership role and first line management of a team
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • FLT licence
  • SAP experience an advantage
  • Experience in Upper Tier COMAH site an advantage
