Description

Veygo are recruiting for a Scrum Master to join their growing team You will be a key member of our squads; helping them deliver first-class solutions to our customer's greatest problems.

Using your understanding of agile and lean principles, you will help drive continuous improvement of our process and support the team's delivery.

We will not settle for mediocre - our squads truly should embody continuous improvement.


As the Scrum Master, you will be responsible for facilitating the squad's various ceremonies including Daily stand-up, Sprint Demos, Sprint Planning and of course the retrospectives.


You will not be alone; we have other Scrum Masters in Veygo, Admiral Pioneer and the wider Admiral Group who you can reach out to, and you will play a role in promoting a community of Agile advocates.

Responsibilities

As Scrum Master, you will be responsible for:

  • Coach and drive continuous improvement of Veygo's Agile methodologies to ensure teams deliver high quality products as efficiently as possible, using opportunities such as the retrospectives and continuous improvement to encourage this.
  • Identifies, tracks, removes, and escalates blockers/impediments at squad level to maintain flow of value, ensuring squads/teams' progress and calling in for support from management and stakeholders where required.
  • Shields and shelters the squad from outside interference.
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies such as Daily standup, Sprint demos, Sprint planning and Retrospectives, ensuring that they are positive, productive and ontime.
  • Manages and resolves squadtosquad dependencies working with other Scrum Master and Product Owners.
  • Build and develop a safe space and environment where the squad can lean on each other for help
  • Support the Product Owner using agile techniques to build transparent Product Roadmaps and an effective Product Backlog.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, feedback, continuous improvement, and support.
  • Help everyone understand Scrum and Kanban theory and practice, both within the squads and organisation.
  • Lead and/or facilitate large meetings, training sessions and/or workshops

Requirements:


  • Working in Agile environments using practices such as Scrum/Kanban, Lean, XP etc.
  • Of further agile approaches (SAFe, LeSS) and practices (agile prioritisation, theory of constraints, CI/CD, estimation etc)
  • Taking ownership of initiatives that include engaging with stakeholders and the wider business
  • Communicating, organising, and conflict resolution
  • Strong interpersonal skills that can support colleagues and be comfortable with robust challenge from stakeholders
  • Strong experience working with Agile delivery tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
It would also be great if you had.

  • Coaching, group leadership and team building experience/skills (and/or qualifications).
  • Experience in agile mentoring on an individual basis, through squads to the wider business.
  • Understanding of Cloudbased technology solutions and delivery, including experience of concepts like containerization, APIs and a microserviceled architecture
