Job Summary:
The Preoperative Assessment Nurse is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of patients scheduled for surgery, gathering relevant medical history, and coordinating preoperative care to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preoperative assessments on patients prior to surgery
- Review medical history and perform physical examinations
- Assess patients' readiness for surgery and identify any potential risks or complications
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop a comprehensive care plan
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process and postoperative care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the surgeon
- Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the preoperative period
- Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license in [insert state/region]
- Previous experience in preoperative assessment or perioperative nursing preferred
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia, and patient care protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fastpaced environment
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills to assess patient conditions accurately
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation
Skills:
- Knowledge of welding techniques and equipment
- Proficiency in using hand tools for fabrication purposes
- SolidWorks experience for designing mechanical components
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairing equipment
- Familiarity with tooling concepts for manufacturing processes
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Experience in materials handling and inventory management
- CAD software proficiency for creating detailed designs
- Ability to fabricate components based on engineering specifications
- Understanding of logic controllers for automation systems

£25.00-£30.00 per hour
