Description
Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

Our client now has a requirement for a Indirect Buyer.

365 Resourcing are the preferred supplier to Mazak.

What is an Indirect Buyer?

An Indirect Buyer is a Buyer that is responsible for purchasing materials and services that are not directly associated with the core manufactured product i.e.

machine tools.

Why is an Indirect Buyer required?

There is currently mínimal control and commercial negotiation of purchased 'non-core' services and products; as a result Mazak could become exposed from a contractual perspective as well as missing out on significant economic benefits.

What are the key benefits that could be achieved?

  • A purchasing professional would have the time to develop & maintain a database of contracts to ensure Mazak is never out of contract or exposed to unfavourable terms.
  • With a greater emphasis on strategic indirect purchasing it is logical to assume that in addition to improved terms significant savings could be achieved.
  • Stakeholder time reduced, with a dedicated Indirect Buyer internal stakeholders time should be freed up for value add activities, rather than sorting tooling out for example.
  • Efficient processing & tighter controls of the requisition system, including reduction of the number of requisitions.
  • Reduction in amount of suppliers used and time associated with processing multiple invoices etc.
