We hope in the next year to establish an IP heart failure unit; fellows will play a large part in the daily management of these patients.

We run general OP cardiology clinics, specialist HF clinics including BNP clinics, together with cardiomyopathy clinics. Other specialist clinics include interests in amyloid, carcinoid and muscular dystrophy. We have a combined HF/ CRM MDT where we discuss complex mutual patients and device therapies.

The heart failure cardiologists typically share 3 days per week in the cath lab and undertake complex device implantation, brady pacing and right heart catheterisation.

We have been training HF fellows since 2008 and the trainees have all gone on to be successful as consultants.
