A exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic person to join the team on our Estate in South Devon as Estate Maintenance.

We have an organic dairy farm, and expanding holiday cottages set over 1200 acres between Newton Ferrers and Holbeton in South Hams near Plymouth, South Devon.

Would suit someone currently working in building or construction looking for more job satisfaction.

We are seeking an
Estate Maintenance
Person to work within our team for general building and grounds repair, fencing, maintenance to staff properties and a working dairy farm.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Ensuring that all maintenance work is carried in line with the Health & Safety policy to maintain the safety of all team members.
Ensuring the good working order of all equipment and machinery by planning, preparing and implementing a maintenance schedule and servicing in line with the Health & Safety policy
Ensuring all machinery is cleaned and stored safely after use
General carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing work on a daily basis
Supervising and liaising with contractors and suppliers
Undertaking reasonable repairs and maintenance to the fabric of the building and grounds
Using lawn mowers (both walk behind and rideon), strimmers and brush/hedge cutters certification/training documents would be an advantage
Light garden maintenance to ensure the grounds are presented to the highest quality standard

Other associated skills we are looking for include:

Basic Plumbing
Tiling
Plastering and masonry
Painting & Decorating
Carpentry and glazing
Basic electrical repair and safe isolation

We do not expect you to be expert in all the above, rather a thorough understanding of what excellent work is and to achieve results in a timely fashion and at good value.

This is a hugely varied role where you will be involved in every aspect of ensuring the maintenance of all buildings and grounds are always kept to an exceptional standard.

In return, we will offer a generous salary based on experience with 4 weeks holiday plus bank holidays, employee benefits and a relaxed but driven rural working environment.

The job is full time Monday to Friday with the need to be flexible moving forward to offer occasional weekend cover.

Our farm is situated in the stunning coastal area of the South Hams district of South Devon, just yards from the sea.

The villages of Holbeton, Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers are minutes away with shops, pubs and leisure facilities.

Salary:
Generous package available, reflective of experience
