Full-time - Dayshift, 4 day week (Monday-Thursday - 36 hours per week)

Salary Min
£23,764 to Max £23,858 per annum (after completion of 12 months training). (Other hours available)

Chemring Energetics UK is a global business providing a range of equipment based on energetic materials for defence, civil defence and key commercial customers.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Devices Department for the General Operator positions, that includes undertaking the assembly of small components.

Full and part-time positions are available - see below

Key Accountabilities & Duties:

Carry out all activities in full compliance with H&SE legislation, within company policy and procedure.
Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed (using the Near Miss System) in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act.
To ensure appropriate PPE requirements are met when working in each area.
Work in accordance with all site rules and regulations.
To ensure that all tasks are undertaken in full compliance with the operating instruction and any associated manufacturing documents
To demonstrate competence in all tasks undertaken through successful completion of the associated training and competence assessment including an understanding of the hazards, risks and controls associated with the task being undertaken
To report any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed to line management
To maintain the appropriate levels of housekeeping for your work area.

Post Holder Characteristics:

Must have personal commitment to Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
Strong bias for action to identify potential problems and coordinate their resolution before they become an issue.
Communication and team working skills
Knowledge of the principles of company policy and operating procedures in order to ensure site and company compliance.

Key Skills:

Numeracy skills
Literacy skills
Manual Dexterity skills

Desirable:

Experience in a production environment is preferable however not essential as training will be provided.
Experience in soldering is preferable however not essential as training will be provided.

36 hour week plus an additional 30 minutes worked each week in order to achieve additional days off over Christmas & New Year

Salary range Examples:

Full-time (36 hours per week): Min £23,764 to Max £23,858 per annum (after completion of 12 months training).
