Description

To provide customers with competitive, accurate, timely and professional quotations, overseeing work in the workshop to ensure deadlines are met and standards maintained.

Reporting to the Managing Director

Key responsibilities:
- Ø This post is full time, 40 hrs per week

Ø From initial enquiry, to gain a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements

Ø Determine best (optimal) materials prices for relevant jobs

Ø Closely monitor progress of quotations

Ø Provide customers with feedback on progress. Question potential ambiguities to avoid misunderstanding and clarify changes

Ø Follow up on quotes once received by customers

Ø Monitor performance of actual job against quoted

Ø Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for structural steel (BE EN

Ø Ensure compliance with quality management ISO 9001 and Achilles certification

Ø Oversee work within the workshop, liaise with the Workshop Chargehand / Foreman to ensure work is completed to the required standard, on time and within budget

Key skills/Knowledge

Ø Personable, with a good telephone manner

Ø Must have good fabrication knowledge

Ø Ability to act on own initiative

Ø Ability to prioritise work activities and good time management skills

Ø Team player

Ø Work well under pressure

Ø Ability to relate well to all levels

Ø Ability to use spreadsheets, word processor and database programmes

Ø Design capability

Ø Good communication and presentation skills

Ø Numerical skills and a good standard of English

Ø Attention to detail

Qualifications:

Ø O'Level/Standard Grade:
English, Maths and Computer Studies

Ø HNC/

HND:
Engineering or Design

Salary

Ø Dependant on experience

Holidays

Ø 28 days including statutory days
