Job Overview:
Responsibilities:

Classroom Management: Supervise and manage the behavior of students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and instructions left by the absent teacher, ensuring that learning objectives are met and students remain engaged.

Resource Management: Utilize instructional materials and resources provided by the school to facilitate learning activities and maintain continuity in the absence of the regular teacher.

Student Support: Provide assistance and support to students as needed, including answering questions, providing guidance on assignments, and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.

Behavior Management: Implement school policies and procedures for behavior management, intervening as necessary to address disruptive behavior and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.

Attendance Monitoring: Take attendance and maintain accurate records of student attendance during cover sessions, reporting any discrepancies or concerns to the appropriate school staff.

Communication: Communicate effectively with school administrators, teachers, and support staff regarding any incidents, issues, or concerns that arise during cover sessions.

Emergency Procedures: Follow established protocols and procedures in the event of emergencies, such as medical incidents or security threats, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Professional Development: Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities provided by the school to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role of a Cover Supervisor.

Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties as needed, such as preparing materials, organizing classroom resources, and completing paperwork related to cover sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of basic classroom management techniques and strategies.
- Ability to follow instructions and implement lesson plans effectively.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to use educational technology as needed.
