A great opportunity has arisen to join the Council's Information Governance Team.

Working directly with our customers and children's services clients, you will be responsible for managing our Children's Services Complaints Procedure, ensuring that complaints are handled effectively and that recommendations from complaints inform service improvement.


In this varied role you will assist in handling Subject Access and Freedom of Information requests made to the Council and ideally have an understanding, or previous experience working in these areas.


You will also play a critical role in supporting the Head of Information Governance in monitoring the Council's compliance to Data Protection Legislation and you will be a key contact for colleagues across all departments to provide information governance support, advice and guidance.


This is an exciting role supporting the wide range of services the Council delivers but with a focus on Children's Services, supporting our continued improvement journey.


Interviews are expected to be conducted during the week commencing 11th March 2024.

Skills:


Essential:

  • Experience of providing high level customer service and working face to face with the public.
  • Skilled at problem resolution involving complex problems in many areas.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a challenging environment of conflicting priorities and tight deadlines with a flexible approach to complete tasks within deadlines without supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the ability to convey information accurately and clearly to both staff and customers when explaining legal or complicated issues.

As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Knowledge:


Essential:

  • Extensive knowledge of Data Protection Legislation.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations.
