SALARY:
Competitive, based on experience
HANDYMAN DUTIES:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs of the stately home, its grounds, and ancillary properties.
- Conduct routine inspections of the properties to identify any issues and address them promptly.
- Handle minor painting and decorating tasks to ensure the interior spaces are wellmaintained and visually appealing.
- Maintain and repair household appliances and equipment as needed.
- Assist with any renovation or restoration projects, collaborating with external contractors when necessary.
- Ensure that the property always meets health and safety standards.
GARDENING DUTIES:
- In conjunction with the Head Gardener, assist in maintaining the estate's gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces to a high standard, including planting, and cultivating flowers, trees, shrubs, and other vegetation, while considering the seasonal and aesthetic aspects.
- Perform regular lawn care, including mowing, trimming, and fertilizing to maintain the appearance of manicured lawns.
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper hydration of plants and lawns.
- Monitor and control pests and diseases, implementing appropriate interventions to safeguard the garden's health.
- Experience with handling and maintaining gardening machinery.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the properties and grounds are secure, alarmed and monitored regularly.
- Feeding, regularly exercising, and generally looking after the health of the house guard dogs.
- Knowledge of and cleaning / valeting of premium vehicles and interior finishes.
- Occasional Chauffeur duties
- Running errands, including collecting materials, products etc for the properties.
- Assist with organising and setting up for events, ensuring that the property is prepared to host guests and visitors.
- Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies related to both handyman and gardening tasks.
- Provide occasional support to other members of the site team as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for any emergencies that may arise during nonbusiness hours.
- Uphold the privacy and security of the estate and its occupants.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in general handyman tasks.
- Demonstrated expertise in gardening and horticultural practices, including landscape design and maintenance, and knowledge of plants and weeds.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations related to property maintenance and gardening.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with other members of the estate team and external contractors.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle manual labour and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
- A proactive and selfmotivated approach to work.
