The pharmacy services are well regarded in the Trust and recognised as a key element to any clinical development. The Pharmacy team is forward thinking; we embrace change and are constantly looking for ways to improve the service. We understand the importance of good team working and have strong links with other professions.

The patient is at the centre of all that we do and our strategy is to provide a pharmacy service that has medicines optimisation at its heart.

Providing our clinical service at ward level from pharmacy hubs lets us achieve this. Ward round attendance in various areas is well established and we are regarded as integral members of the team.

We have implemented EPMA (Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration), so this will help us to improve the way that we work.

This is an exciting time for us as following the Dorset Clinical Services Review.

We plan to develop into the Major Emergency Hospital for Dorset and will be welcoming Paediatrics and Maternity when they move across from Poole Hospital.

In addition there will be a much larger Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit.
