Based out of the Old Oak Common Depot, London, NW10 6DZ. Expectation to work 3 days out of the office, and up to 2 days WFH

This role is suitable for procurement professionals as well as Quantity Surveyors


What you'll be doing

As a
Procurement Surveyor you will develop and implement a package procurement strategy that is compliant, transparent and will deliver the package to the relevant programme milestones and budget agreed, aligned to the Clause 32 programme dates.

You will lead and conduct the procurement process for packages in accordance with the procurement plan, supported by the Procurement Manager as required


This includes:

  • Development and agreement of package procurement plans
  • Preparation of Tender and Gate Review documents
  • Carrying out supplier evaluations for designated procurement exercises
  • Conducting negotiations to enable the shortlisting of suppliers, for designated procurement exercises
  • Supporting final negotiations with selected suppliers
  • Compilation of recommendation reports and final contracts
  • Manage and maintain packages dates and details in the Tender Event Schedule
  • Engage the appropriate supply chains in the developing market understanding and potential sources of supply in developing a suitable procurement strategy for the package
  • Undertake the necessary due diligence with supplier checks / prequalification process
  • Appoint subcontractors to programme under fair contractual conditions commensurate with the scope of works being delivered
  • Maintain and demonstrate a clear process that supports delivery of contract requirements and reduces the risk on disallowed costs through noncompliance against the main contract
  • Track and monitor savings against Consolidation Budget, highlighting any potential issues early
  • Keep abreast of the supply market to support the proposed package procurement strategy, with a focus on: capacity, capability and competence to inform of relevant threats and opportunities
  • Support embedment of sustainable procurement
  • Support integration of BBVS and HS2 ED&I commitments with the supply chain

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Subcontract Procurement experience in a large organisation
  • Experience of negotiating complex high value/ high business impact commercial deals and contractual terms and conditions with a track record of delivering value
  • Ability to project manage a matrix team to deliver project objectives and the procurement programme
  • Knowledge of Contract management processes
  • A good working knowledge of the endtoend procurement process from market research, meetthebuyer events, prequalification, and sourcing, through to contract and supplier management
  • Demonstrable analytical skills, numerically astute with welldeveloped problemsolving abilities
  • Experience in the use of the NEC Suite of Contracts
  • Experience in managing supplier performance to agreed contract SLAs/ KPIs
  • Experience of Jaggaer eprocurement platforms advantageous; however, training can be provided
