Description
The role involves supporting a small team of brain injury support workers on a full-time basis.

The post holder is responsible for dealing with and resolving any day to day problems that may arise and for communicating in a timely fashion with the Case Manager / Assistant Case Manager.


The Support Worker Team Leader role involves:

  • Ensuring that the support worker team implement rehabilitation programmes and follow guidelines.
  • Induct all new support workers to the package inline with company induction processes.
  • Providing the support worker team with guidance and support.
  • Solving day to day problems in partnership with members of the professional team.
  • Conducting regular informal reviews with the client and her family and providing feedback to the Case Manager / Assistant Case Manager as required.
  • Deciding when the Case Manager / Assistant Case Manager needs to become involved.
  • Taking a leading role in providing the Client with support enabling her to access a range of social, recreational and vocational activities.
  • Monitoring all aspects of the support worker's performance and providing feedback to the Assistant Case Manager that will inform their supervisions and input.
  • Assisting the support worker team manage the client's episodes of challenging behaviour by implementing the behaviour plan and consulting with relevant Psychology and Education colleagues.
  • Assisting with support worker rota planning and problem solving.
  • Ensuring that all recording is completed and staff record on a daily basis and send to ECMS each month for review.
  • Ensuring that staff competencies are completed and up to date under the guidance of the Assistant Case Manager.
  • Completing and recording monthly care plan reviews and reporting any changes to the Assistant Case Manager for implementation.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures and read, signed and adhered to by yourself and other staff including agency workers.
  • Ensue that all staff complete training allocated to them within the timeframes set.
  • Complete allocated training in line with the Team Leader position within allocated timeframes.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Sensitivity and discretion necessary to provide first line management to the support worker team.
  • Ability to absorb complex information and training provided by ECMS and involved professionals and to demonstrate accurate implementation of instruction and guidelines.
  • Effective team working and management skills with colleagues and family members.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ensuring that the support worker team members adhere, at all times to the good practice guidelines and standards of consent outlined in "the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England".
  • England that the support workers adhere to the car plan and all other relevant instruction provided.

£14.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • Night shift
  • Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Sheffield: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- providing care: 1 year (required)

- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (required)
  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (preferred)
