The role

The difference our new Procurement Specialist will make


Day to day, you'll be responsible for Strategic Sourcing, Procurement & Sub-Contracting activity to improve contract coverage and extract maximum value from a category of spend with potential opportunities.

This role involves some travel to our defence equipment site (such as Bovington, Warminster and Donnington) as required. The role will primarily be working from home with access to a Babcock hub.


Experience:


  • Evidence of previously working in an endtoend procurement role, running tenders, negotiations, implementing new contracts and extracting value over the life of the agreement or comparable experience
  • Understanding and experience of working in a Defence environment is desirable
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) or working towards is desirable
  • Experience of acting as a focal point for relations with third party suppliers through Account Management or Supplier Relationship Management background is desirable
  • A willingness to collaborate across teams and varying levels of seniority to overcome supply chain operational performance issues
  • Must hold or have the ability to obtain SC Security Clearance
