About you


Highly numerate with a love of working with numbers and spreadsheets you have a good understanding of accounts concepts and will enjoy taking ownership of this key area of the business.

You enjoy variety in a role and are happy both with entering purchase/salesledger transactions and producing management accounts and VAT returns.

You work well as part of a tight knit team and enjoy working at a small company as it allows you to get actively involved with many aspects of the business, such as purchasing, sales andoperations to make a real difference.


About the role
The Finance Manager position is a key role in the management team reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will take an active part in shaping the future direction of the company.

The Finance Manager role is responsible for accounts administrationwithin Palgrave Ltd and takes ownership of all accounts related matters and issues to ensure their resolution.

This varied role encompasses a wide range of tasks such as purchase and sales ledger, account reconciliations, paying suppliers, end of month processes,calculating and posting journals, producing monthly management accounts, VAT returns, credit control, tracking cash flow, providing information to accountants for financial year end and ad hoc reporting.

This role works very closely with purchasing, salesand operations to actively support one another and drive the business forward.


Requirements:


Essential

  • Accounts experience within a busy office environment, including cash handling.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • Highly numerate with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Very strong excel skills (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables).
  • Selfmotivated with great organisational and time management skills.
  • Great communication and team working skills
  • An interest in being actively involved with other functions (purchasing, sales, operations)
  • Strong IT skills and quick to learn new systems
