NHFT Gender Identity Services are looking for a highly enthusiastic individual with administrative and secretarial experience, who can work as part of a team as well using their own initiative.


The post is to provide a comprehensive, clerical support service to our Specialist G.P in Gender Identity, to enable them to carry out their duties in an effective and efficient manner and ensure efficiency in patient care.


You will need previous administrative and secretarial experience, outstanding organisational and communication skills; work well with staff and the public and must be able to demonstrate experience of working under pressure and to set deadlines.

A general understanding and empathetic approach towards patients experiencing gender identity-related issues is essential.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of a clerical team to support a defined team of Clinicians.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to Gender GP and /or the team as required.
  • Assist in the organisation of medic workload.
  • To liaise with other departments and patients as necessary.


A range of secretarial and clerical skills will be required to support the smooth running of day-to-day operational issues for the supporting clinical teams, thus enabling a whole team approach with the aim of providing outstanding compassionate care.
