We are seeking an Independent Chair to lead and develop our Partnership to realise benefits and connect the work of our key partners across the city.


As our Chair, you will be dynamic, strategic and passionate about improving outcomes for our most vulnerable children, adults and communities.

Bringing the partnership together, ensuring robust governance, encouraging challenge and holding Partners to account so we safeguard our community's most vulnerable people.

We are looking for a credible, innovative, and experienced individual who can support, challenge and facilitate a high functioning partnership, with knowledge of the services, as well as the ability to inspire trust and confidence of senior professionals across a range of agencies


Under your leadership and direction, and with strong corporate support, you will ensure our future is defined, shaped and delivered, maintaining partnership support and enabling us to increasingly innovate and deliver improved outcomes.

The statutory functions overseen by the Executive Board include:

  • Bristol Safeguarding Adults Board
  • Bristol Safeguarding Children Arrangements
  • Bristol Community Safety Partnership


You will work with the Executive members from key public services ensuring that these functions are discharged effectively and will support the Executive Members in delivering effective partnership leadership.

With the support of an integrated Business Unit, you will ensure that the Executive Board:


  • Meets statutory & legislative requirements functions through discussion and decision format, dynamically and with flow
  • Has exception reporting from data, action plan priorities and summaries of reports which enables them to maintain a robust line of sight on the effectiveness safeguarding and safety partnerships in the city
  • Develops a mature and committed citywide leadership partnership which is responsive to the city's resources and the needs of its population
