About this job:

To support service users at mealtimes with Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities who may have Health and Social needs. Working within guidelines recommendations and having knowledge of specialised diets including PEG feeding.

To ensure service users safety and welfare during mealtimes and recreation.


To maintain service user's independence giving choice and control in a person centre way whilst taking part in meaningful activities.


To support and assist services with all aspects of their personal care which is based on the needs of the individual and maintain the highest level of dignity and respect.


Special requirements for this post:


Health and safety:
ensure environment is safe from any hazards of spillages substances equipment etc.

To have knowledge of Learning Disabilities and associated conditions including Autism.

Communicate effectively using the service user's preferred method of communication.

To ensure equipment is used appropriately and stored away following lunch.

Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, line managers, team leaders etc.

Undertake routine cleaning activities:
cleaning of tables, chairs and wheelchairs.

Support service users moving from one area to another.

To understand and comply with safeguarding procedures.

Ability to monitor, observe and record data accurately. Individual monitoring forms. communication books, care plans etc.
