Social Media Strategist - Purpose


My client is looking for a Social Media Strategist will champion and effortlessly navigate the ever-evolving world of social media.

You will have an extensive knowledge of how social media platforms work, understands how other people use them, can spot emerging trends, and you'll see beyond the traditional definitions of social media.

They're looking for a creative problem-solver who can use social media to make brands more culturally relevant.


Social Media Strategist - Key Responsibilities

  • Be the goto expert on all things social media within the agency.
  • Understand all aspects of social including strategy, content, platforms, community, influencers and partnerships, activations, social commerce, analytics and paid.
  • Represent the consumer in social media briefs the platforms they use, how they use them, their cultural context feeding this insight into briefs.
  • Be the agencylead on social listening to extract actionable insights for briefs, pitches, and deepdive reports.
  • Suggest the most effective ways to use social media, tailored to the features, user behaviours, and best practices of each platform.
  • Lead on social content strategy and work with the Creative team to create and curate content for our clients' brands.
  • Work with the Creative and Comms Planning team to align the social media strategy with a broader omnichannel approach.
  • Be the first to know about the latest social developments and trends.
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to generate social conversations e.g. reactive content, trendjacking, local opportunities, special dates.
  • Champion socialfirst thinking in the agency and embrace emerging technology.
  • Be a trusted consultant for social media metrics and measuring effectiveness.
  • Build relationships with social media platform partners to ensure that our clients have access to the latest tools and features.
  • Get under the hood of our client's business, gaining a deep understanding of their company, brand, products, sector, commercials, the challenges, and opportunities.
  • Be a brand custodian by ensuring content matches brand guidelines

Social Media Strategist - Skills**- 3-5 years' experience at a social media platform or social media, advertising, or creative agency.

  • Demonstrable experience in leading social strategy across platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube on a global and regional scale. Experience in Twitch, gaming and emerging social channels is a big plus.
  • Experience designing usergeneration content and communities.
  • Experience conducting social listening, including designing robust methodologies to ensure the highest quality insight.
  • An insatiable social and cultural curiosity and a clear understanding of current social trends and technology.
  • Proven experience in data analytics for social media.
  • Track record working with globally recognised brands on multinational campaigns.
  • A captivating presenter who can hold court in meetings with clients.
London, hybrid - very flexible - £40-45,000
