A large food manufacturer are looking for a Procurement Manager to join their purchasing department. You will be responsible for the industrial gases and fleet category with a large available spend.
You will be have a strong purchasing background where youare keen to develop and have a driven attitude to succeed.
As a Procurement Manager your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of.- Reporting into Head of Procurement and working closely with Head of Logistics.
- You will be responsible for maintaining contracts and renewal programmes across multiple areas of the business for our fleet of HGV vehicles and MHE, also looking after Industrial Gases.
- Focusing on category strategy, optimisation, process improvement and delivering against individual, departmental and business goals
- Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with preferred suppliers.
- Negotiating prices, agree terms and conditions and where required set up contracts and supply agreements.
- Perform spend, contract and market analysis for Distribution, Industrial Gases and Chemical categories for communication to the wider business.
- Work closely with the Head of Logistics to ensure the fleet renewal programme is up to date and tenders submitted in accordance to the company's requirements.
- Work closely with Finance Director on lease sign off and justification,
- Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation across sites.
- Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against targets and project deadlines.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to Procurement processes & procedures.
- Provide Head of procurement and business leaders with Category Strategy information that includes financial data and a deep dive review of category risks and opportunities.
- CIPS qualified Procurement Manager with strong purchasing background within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within Fleet, MHE and Gases category.
- Excellent analytical skills and commercial awareness.
- Contract management and supplier experience
- Ability to interface with cross functional team and levels in the business
- Confident in negotiation and managing tenders.
- Positive thinking and selfmotivated individual with good communication skills.
