Liverpool

£38,610 + Overtime (OTE £40,000 - £47,000)

Monday - Friday, Days


I'm currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic to work out of both VMU and a customer's premises to ensure all vehicles are maintained to VOSA standards.


Pay Rates;
- £38,610 per annum

  • OTE £40,000 £47,000


  • Monday

  • Friday £16.50
  • Saturday £18.70
  • Sunday £23.65

Shift Pattern

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday 06:00 15:00
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday 10:00 19:00
  • Week 3: Tuesday to Saturday 06:00 15:00

_Essential Skills:
_


  • Proven track record of working in a comparable HGV Mechanical role
  • NVQ level 3 or above in HGV mechanics
  • BTEC National Motor Vehicle Engineer or City & Guilds MVCS Parts 1 and 2 or NVQ Levels 1,2,3 IMI Technical Certificate (or equivalent older C&G qualifications)
  • Knowledge and experience of inspection methods/processors
  • Knowledge and experience of statutory vehicle inspection requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

_Desirable Skills:
_


  • HGV class 2 or 1 Licence (desirable)
  • IRTEC qualified
  • Relevant training and experience on tankers
  • Ability to utilise/understand diagnostic equipment

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of tankers
  • To undertake all work to a minimum of MOT standard as detailed in MOT Testers Manual/s or vehicle manufacturer publications and manuals
  • Application of preventative maintenance routines.
  • Continual safe use of all VMU tools, handtools, plant and equipment.
  • To accurately use and interpret outputs from vehicle diagnostic equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ensure standard working process and procedures are followed, and that associated documentation is fully completed as directed
  • Strict compliance with relevant Legal and Workshop Policy & procedures in order to protect the company
  • Service and inspect all vehicles to VOSA standard
  • Diagnose and rectify any faults that may arise
  • Identify and order parts as and when required
  • To complete and maintain all documentation on the company's vehicle maintenance system
