You'll support with embedding and enabling process excellence ways of working for the planning and scheduling work management team as part of the Maintenance Excellence programme.

You'll be developing and delivering a number of system changes and reporting capabilities to ensure that the work management activities can be successfully achieved.


Job Accountabilities:

You'll be responsible for supporting delivery of process excellence initiatives, identifying improvements and embedding of ways of working.

You'll need to understand system requirements for the maintenance excellence ways of working and work alongside wider stakeholders to scope and deliver these system changes, conducting end to end user acceptance testing to ensure systems are fit for purpose.


You'll also be responsible for:

  • Working with the wider Maintenance Excellence team to establish the key metrics which will be utilised to measure performance of maintenance and people
  • Developing and delivering a number of key strategic projects to deliver improved scheduling performance as part of the Maintenance
  • Excellence and Systems Thinking programmes
  • Working in and form task and finish working groups and drive them to deliver solutions to identified scheduling issues
  • Development of work management processes and procedures ensuring effective version control and deployment across multiple business areas
  • Working in collaboration with the field and Maintenance teams to improve planning and scheduling principles and relationships to ensure the provision of a standardised service across Water, Wastewater and Bioresources.
  • Generating performance reports from SAP data to help improve on key work management performance indicators.

Knowledge and Skills:


To be considered for this role you'll be Qualified to a minimum of either City and Guilds, ONC or Level 3 Diploma with hands on experience gained in an operational environment.

You'll need well-developed analytical skills and a proven track record in identifying issues and driving through solutions to a wide range of technical issues relating to effective maintenance practices.

You'll have excellent planning and organisational skills to facilitate management of own workload and workload of indirect teams to deliver strategic initiatives for the Maintenance Excellence Programme.


You'll also have:

  • Ability to react to customer requirements and initiate innovative approaches to enhancing operational working practices
  • Proven communication (verbal and written) and influencing skills at all levels within the organisation translating company goals into day to day objectives
  • Ability to be resilient and tenacious. Be personally driven to overcome operational obstacles with a proven ability to conflicting operational issues
  • Ability to build collaborative relations with operational staff and other departments and key stakeholders such as work management and operational engineering
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP and RCM work bank for all maintenance disciplines
  • An excellent understanding of the lifecycle of a work order and how work orders should be generated and completed including the effect on financial settlement
  • A good understanding of the basics of Asset Lifecycle Management including costs to maintain, monitoring, maintenance routines etc
  • Understanding of the process of asset registration/deregistration
  • A good understanding of the fundamental principles of Reliability Centred Maintenance and how the FMEA (Failure Modes Effects Analysis) are transformed into annual/quarterly/monthly maintenance plans
  • Highly credible in operations and maintenance technical environments in either Waste or Water treatment
