Since the first branch of General Traffic opened in 1983, our family owned business has grown to become one of the largest stockists of automotive spares in the North West and the Midlands.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

To support the delivery team on a casual, part time basis covering absences and peak business periods.
To transport and deliver goods to branches and customers as directed.
Check the vehicle on a daily basis and report any damage to the Branch Manager.
Complete the Vehicle Log Sheet on a weekly basis and pass to the Branch Manager every month
Check that all invoices and parts match before delivery.
Complete the Delivery Sheet with the invoice number and customer name.
Obtain a signature from the customer on The Delivery Sheet for all goods delivered
Collect customer payments as detailed on the Customer Invoice List. Checking the dates, amount in figures/words and signature on all cheques. Always count your cash
Upon returning to the branch, hand all monies over to the Branch Manager.
If any goods are to be returned. Complete Goods Return Note. Leave the top copy of the GRN with the customer and ensure that the bottom copy of the GRN accompanies the returned goods.
Take the details of any customer complaints and pass to the Branch Manager.
In the event of a Road Traffic Accident complete the Accident Report Form and follow the accident procedure. Ensure the Branch Manager receives the Accident Report Form.
Advise customers of special offers/products available /signs/catalogues
Responsible for the cleanliness inside and out of your vehicle.
You will take reasonable care for both your Health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or commissions at work.
You will adhere and cooperate with all Health and safety instructions and training to enable our company to comply with the law.
You will wear High visibility vest and safety boots at all times during working hours.
As an employee of general traffic you may from time to time be requested to take on other duties which may be found suitable at that instance, at the discretion of the Branch Manager.

PROFILE

Excellent driving skills.
Good communication and interpersonnel skills as well as a strong appreciation of customer service values.
Geographical familiarity with Oldham and surrounding areas.
