Job Summary:


What you'll do:


  • Analyse the (geo)political dynamics impacting a global business with its origins in China: monitor policy and geopolitical developments in the UK, anticipate risks and opportunities, evaluate their impact on our businesses, and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Establish solid working relationships with business colleagues in the UK office and EMEA locations and work closely with our internal stakeholders to identify business development and partnership opportunities generated by the UK public policy environment, especially in the areas of crossborder trade and tourism.
  • Provide daytoday support, strategic advice and recommendations to our international businesses and communicate closely with the business team and related internal stakeholders on key UK policy initiatives.
  • Represent Ant Group in UK fintech policy forums and build close relationships with UK stakeholders in relevant policy and business areas including fintech, digital payments, crossborder trade, and ESG.
  • Support the Ant IPP team and its wider ESG mandate in providing local insights, briefing materials, and event management support related to the EMEA region.
  • Manage daytoday engagement with external resources in the UK, such as consultancies and trade associations, as well as any relevant thirdparty relationships.

What we're looking for:


  • Public policy and government affairs experience, or substantial experience in working and engaging with policymakers, civil society, nongovernmental organisations and other stakeholders as part of a financial and technology related business.
  • Demonstrated geopolitical analysis skills and deep understanding of the UK policy and regulatory landscape in relation to crossborder digital payments, fintech and the digital economy.
  • Prior work with government or experience driving publicprivate partnerships in the crossborder trade, tourism, or ESG areas would be an asset.
  • Business development mindset, highly motivated selfstarter, strong cultural adaptability and keen learning capacity.
  • Effective communication skills to convince and create mutual understanding.
  • Strong project management skills with good attention to details and solid analytical skills to "think out of the box".
  • A team player who inspires confidence in people.
  • Impeccable degree of discretion, confidentiality, and ethics.
  • Languages: Fluent in English, other EMEA languages are advantageous.
