THE OPPORTUNITY
We have the exciting opportunity to join our wonderful Product Design team as Senior Product and Packaging Designer.


As Katie Loxton Senior Product and Packaging Designer, you will be hands-on progressing exciting, innovative projects from conceptual stages through to design delivery.

You will be responsible for leading and managing product development for our gifting and small accessory ranges from start to finish, including the creative development and brand styling.


You will make an impact by effectively managing your team and collaborating with the wider Product Design team to increase our positioning in the market as an affordable luxury brand.

You will have the exciting opportunity to work directly with the Creative Director and Lead Designers to design, deliver and develop a best-in-class gifting product range on time and to budget.


If you are an innovative product and packaging designer who is always looking ahead and keeping abreast of industry trends, and is passionate about coaching and developing junior team members to success, then this may be the perfect position for you.

The role is Monday - Friday 9am-5pm.

You'll enjoy the exciting buzz of our friendly office in Banbury, Oxfordshire 3 times a week on average with the flexibility to work from home for the remaining days.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

  • Taking full ownership of your work, being responsible for delivering gifting products from concept to delivery by:
  • Providing technical specifications and liaising with factories to ensure products are to a high quality and consistent in delivery to final customer
  • Working closely with buying to ensure products are coming in on target and in our pricing architecture
  • Ensuring endtoend delivery of products including packaging, tags, care labels, POS display, testing
  • Thoroughly checking own work and junior members of team's work ensuring attention to detail is to the highest standard & organizational skills are being adhered to fully
  • Checking all samples against specs to ensure suppliers have made to specification and modify based on Creative Director and Lead Designers sign off
  • Taking responsibility for spec sheet sign off on all designs, helping to mentor and manage midweight and junior designers to deliver a firsttime right spec sheet and sample
  • Going above and beyond to implement individual/team processes that will strongly benefit the design process and proactively managing these ideas
  • Using your excellent awareness of competitors within the gifting, fashion accessories and personalisation industry, updating the team on a monthly basis with findings and suggestions
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the brand's product development strategy and collaborate with the team to ensure projects and products are delivered on time and inline with company schedule
  • Being the benchmark for design standards to midweight and junior designers, building systems and methods to optimise the design process whilst always identifying and maximising team potential and performance to create highquality products
  • Preparing daily/weekly reports to Lead Designer, outlining current statuses and detailing progress of all live projects
  • Developing and driving new personalisation offerings with innovation at forefront always and communicate these ideas with relevant teams within company to deliver successful implementation and ensure we are at the forefront of personalisation
  • Presenting concepts and ideas to the Creative Director and Lead Designer regularly throughout the design season and clearly communicate the progress of all development ensuring the team are on track with targets
  • Maintaining direct relationships with other teams and departments and support where needed on projects that need knowledge from a product point of view

THE TALENT YOU'LL BRING

  • A design qualification or equivalent experience, preferably in fashion or product design with a passion and enthusiasm related to fashion and lifestyle products
  • 23 years' experience in midweight or above in product design, preferably within fashion and accessories brand, with proven ability to deliver designs from creative concept to final product
  • Experience in packaging design, from ideation to creation
  • A proven track record of managing processes and people to effectively deliver highquality products within deadlines
  • Experience coaching and mentoring others to enhance junior team members performance
  • Strong visual communication skills as well as excellent proficiency in Creative suite such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite such as Excel
