The Bars department operates four bars in the main DUSA building with the aim to provide the students with the finest quality, best value products and services, served in a stimulating and well-maintained environment.
The role of Team Leader within this department involves all the duties of a bar operation, including stock and cash control, to deliver high standards of customer service.
The Role
- To take responsibility for the management of the venue.
- To have responsibility for cash, floats, and the accurate recording of cash & stock movements.
- To communicate instructions and delegate tasks to team members.
- To ensure all venues are locked, secured and alarmed upon completion of shift.
- To appropriately manage staffing levels and associated costs.
- To report defective equipment and/or dangerous incidents to the Duty Manager.
- To ensure compliance with licensing laws, HACCP documentation and health and safety regulations, assisting bars management team to undertake Health & safety audits of the Bars
- To assist staff from other departments if required and any other duties that may reasonably be expected by the Duty Manager.

Qualification / Knowledge / Experience
- Bar experience preferred
- Coffee barista training preferred
- Leadership experience beneficial
Hours of work
Rota basis hours on a casual basis.
There will be a requirement to work weekends and evenings
Salary
The rate is currently £10.56 per hour. No additional payments or allowances and no contractual entitlement to overtime.
