Description
Enfield Borough Council is looking to appoint an excellent Head of Admissions, Attendance & School Place Planning with a strong record of success and experience in education within schools and local authority settings.
The post will require you to provide strong leadership and management of the Council's work in these three areas ensuring that statutory responsibilities are met and that key timelines and deadlines are kept to meet the needs of children and young people and their families.
A key part of the role is to work effectively with schools and partners in Enfield to promote for example high levels of attendance.
You will provide the Council's strategic leadership on school place planning, with an emphasis upon ensuring that the Local Authority has sufficient places to meet the demand for places - for example in the current situation of falling rolls.
You will work with the Enfield Learning Excellence partnership as required and also council committees to be part of setting the agenda for the areas of responsibility - for example ensuring that the admissions procedures meet statutory requirements.
As a member of the Education Senior Leadership Team you will contribute to the formulation of overall strategy, setting policy and performance targets for the service.

- have successful experience of senior leadership within schools and/or a local authority
- have strong knowledge of the legal framework governing admissions, school attendance and school place planning
- have a thorough understanding, gained from practical experience of practice and managing successfully in an educational and/or local authority setting
- have excellent data analysis and reporting skills;
- have a highly positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, energy, drive and commitment to achieving our vision that every learner achieves more than they thought possible.
- are able to work with Elected Members and politically sensitive issues
