Job Description:


An Investment Bank is looking to hire a new Reconciliation Control Senior Analyst to join their operations team in London.

The prime purpose of this role is to ensure an effective reconciliation management capability across Operations. The role is responsible for the governance, as well as the execution and management of a number of reconciliations. In particular the role holderwill be responsible for several key controls such as the contra, stock and nostro reconciliations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Daily reconciliation production of cash and stock reconciliations
  • Ongoing management and maintenance of the reconciliation including regular reviews of matching rules, allocation rules, department codes etc.
  • Maintenance of procedure and governance documentation
  • Reporting in line with CASS requirements on items the bank is unable to apply
  • Issuing Debit Authorities to our Nostro agents
  • Supporting the preparation of any MI that is required from the Operations department:
  • Cash Exceptions, Fails and Non-Receipts, Stock Exceptions, Macro-based monthly trend analysis, Balance sheet substantiation pack creation and contribution
  • Regular training across Operations of Balance Sheet Substantiation function and processes
  • Collaboration and partnership with the Finance department

Key Requirements:


  • Educated to degree level & show strong numeracy skills
  • Experience in performing Balance Sheet Substantiation and determining oversight processes
  • Preferred experience of working within Operations
  • Preferred experience of any further professional qualifications, e.g. CFA, CISI, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications (Access, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent in the use of Microsoft Excel, with moderate knowledge of macros and a basic knowledge of VBA
  • Familiarity with banking and trading products
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with other functions within and outside of Operations department
