My client, a leading professional membership body based in Central London with over 19,000 members of all ages, stages, or disciplines across the UK, is currently recruiting for an Events Officer


The Role of Events Officer


You will work on a range of high-profile events including two-day conferences, one day member events, glamorous evening dinners and influential political and parliamentary events.


You'll be the Events Manager's right-hand person, providing them with effective support and collaborating closely on all aspects of organising, running, and evaluating successful events.


This exciting and varied position is well suited to someone with events experience, who is looking to broaden their skills and build their career in a friendly, supportive environment.


Key responsibilities:

Supporting the planning and delivery of events.


Supporting on Network and student events, working with colleagues to promote the events and managing arrangements for attendance, collateral or merchandise.


Working with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager and Head of Policy and Public Affairs to plan, book and coordinate our political dinners in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.


Supporting the Events Manager and Head of Marketing and Events with event scheduling, stand design, logistics, administration, budget and expense management, to ensure the smooth running of events.


Keeping event programmes accurate and up to date, including liaising with and briefing speakers and ensuring event partners/sponsors are informed of changes.

Booking travel and accommodation, planning and coordinating social events including venue liaison, catering and entertainment.

Other duties commensurate with the role as agreed with Line Manager.


Essential:

Experience of coordinating and supporting the delivery of large events and conferences.

Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines.

Problem-solving skills and diplomacy.

A flexible and adaptable approach.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience of managing budgets.

Experience of setting up and running events on Zoom Webinar, Zoom Meetings and MS Teams.


Desirable:

Experience of managing external suppliers.

Educated to degree level or equivalent.

The closing date is 9am on Monday 13 February 2023. First interviews will be held remotely on 15/16 February and second interviews in person on 21/22 February 2023.
