Foyers Lodge is a beautiful Victorian retreat a mile from the village of Foyers overlooking Loch Ness (19 miles south of Inverness city centre).

We offer stylish accommodation, delicious food, beautifully kept grounds and unrivalled views of the loch and the magnificent surrounding landscape.


Foyers Lodge was included in The Times and Sunday Times '100 Best British Hotels 2021' in its first fully operational season of trading following an extensive refurbishment.

Now listed in the 'Good Hotel Guide' as well as featuring at No. 20 in the 'Top 50 Boutique Hotels' in the UK, one of only 5 in Scotland.

We have 6 bedrooms and an Executive Suite with a maximum capacity of 14 resident guests in total.


THE ROLE

This is not a live-in position. We're looking to recruit someone who either lives locally to Foyers or can reasonably commute from the surrounding area.


We're looking for a positive, productive and friendly Kitchen Porter to work with our Head Chef and Kitchen Assistant to deliver a five-star service.

Start time will be circa 18.30/19.00 until finish (approx. 21.30/ nights a week. Flexibility is key here, we are busier/quieter on given days, all guest dependent.


RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Co-operate with your training so that you are confident and competent
  • Clean down surfaces, unpack fridges, set up work station and ensure all areas are ready at the beginning and end of service
  • Alert Head Chef when relevant supplies require reordering
  • Pot wash and cleaning under the direction of Head Chef
  • Operate the industrial Dishwasher
  • Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary
  • Clean and polish glasses, crockery and cutlery
  • Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources and clean the dish storage areas
  • Restock and replenish kitchen supplies including the shelving and unpacking of deliveries
  • Sweep/mop floors
  • Empty rubbish bins
  • Operate vacuum packing machine if required
  • Provide assistance as needed, especially during peak times
  • Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately
  • Report any sanitation or cleaning issues and follow company policies at all times
  • Ensure fivestar standards of cleanliness and hygiene are always met
  • Weekly deep clean of all kitchen areas and equipment
In the occasional absence of the Kitchen Assistant you would be expected to cover the following:

  • Assist Head Chef with all food preparation, cooking and plating up of food in the 'ready to eat' and hot plate sections of the kitchen as required
  • Excellent knowledge of the menu including allergens


The Kitchen Porter will work with all members of our small team to deliver a five-star service at Foyers Lodge.

£12.00 per hour
