WHAT TO EXPECT


Jaguar Racing is part of the Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport department and competes in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport and Jaguar Racing sits within the Chief of Staff function and is responsible for all strategy, planning and delivery of all motorsport activities for both Jaguar and Land Rover brands.


Within this function is the Motorsport Communications and PR team whose responsibilities include the development of the strategy, planning and delivery of best in class and highly effective Owned and Earned communications for multiple stakeholders.

The team is responsible for delivering industry leading, innovative, always on communications for all audiences and media relations that support the function's objectives and KPI's.

Importantly the team is responsible for ensuring the communications strategy supports and enhances Jaguar Racing, Jaguar and Jaguar Land Rover's Reimagine strategy and modern luxury vision.


The Head of Motorsport Communications and PR is responsible for leading and realising the function's full communications objectives and ensuring highly effective and positive integration with all stakeholders including media, team partners, prospect partners, FIA Formula E, FIA, internal colleagues and fans to name a few.


THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities

The role is the Head of Motorsport Communications & PR, with the support of a direct reporting team. The position is responsible for leading the strategic planning and successful deployment of all motorsport communications for JLR Motorsport and Jaguar TCS Racing including Owned (e.g. Social, digital, videography content) and Earned (e.g. print, digital and broadcast media coverage).

This senior position within the department is also accountable to ensure highly effective cross functional integration, planning and coordination of communications between motorsport, brand and corporate functions to ensure maximum impact and engagement with our racing activities to deliver for the broader business.


Communication Planning and Cross Functional Integration:

  • Support the Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport Managing Director with team/department positioning and key messaging aligned to the wider JLR Reimagine strategy
  • Responsible for short, medium and long term endtoend, through the line, Jaguar Racing and JLR Motorsport communications planning, stakeholder communication (partners, sponsors, regions, markets, employees, Tata group) and implementation ensuring achievement of the set functional objectives and wider business needs
  • Lead the successful integration of JLR Motorsport and Jaguar Racing activity into Brand and Corporate communications ensuring the effective uptake of motorsport activities and alignment and proof points of the wider Reimagine strategy
  • Provide support to Jaguar Racing Partnerships team for team partner communications including contractual requirements and communications and asset planning to maximise impact and retention
  • Lead point of contact and responsibility for ensuring clear communications alignment with JLR regional and market PR and Communications teams in relation to Jaguar Racing and JLR Motorsport
  • Lead and ensure high performing and positive working relationships with all external 3rd party stakeholders

Media Relations and Communications (Earned):

  • Lead, manage and maintain a high performing and best in class media relations department, constantly evolving alongside the internal and external environment
  • Accountable for ensuring highly effective, relevant and positive tonality media coverage for Jaguar TCS Racing and JLR Motorsport
  • Responsible for setting and delivering the seasonal media coverage targets and ensure achievement of set earned media targets to support programme and partner ROI targets for each season aligned with the JLR Motorsport broader objectives
  • Ensure excellent global media relations in all target media groups and markets and continuously develop and foster effective relationships
  • Responsible for maintaining and leading a robust and clear crisis communications plan and process

Digital and Social-Media (Owned):

  • Responsible for leading and delivering best in class social media platforms and channels including but not limited to all channel strategy, design, planning, assets, community management for Jaguar TCS Racing (social media and website) in line with the JLR modern luxury vision
  • Ensure synergy and alignment of Jaguar Racing social and digital act
