Description

About The Role:

Are you looking for a role where you can really make a difference? Changeworks, Scotland's leading environmental charity, is looking for a Finance Officer to play a key role in helping us tackle the climate emergency.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll join our dedicated Finance team and carry out a range of financial and management accounting functions.

You'll be responsible for the automated staff expenses system, this will include system maintenance and development, training staff and resolving queries.

You'll assist with management accounts and the annual budget and produce timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external clients.

You will be Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualified, have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent experience in finance or accounting.

Alternatively you will be working towards a professional accounting qualification.

This role requires strong communication skills as you will be a key contact explaining financial information to non-finance managers at all levels across Changeworks.

You'll be confident to work autonomously and take the initiative, as well as working as part of a team.

If you're looking for a great opportunity to develop in your finance/accounting career, and are passionate about the climate emergency, we want to hear from you.

About Us:

Changeworks is a great place to work.

We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year.

Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty.

This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area.

These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives.

We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives.

You'll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.
