Proactive are currently in search of an experienced Production Team Lead to start work in Dartford.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact as a hands on Production Team Lead, with a company that is at the forefront of lighting controls technology innovation.

As a Hands-On Production Team Leader, your main responsibility will be to actively participate in and oversee the manufacturing and testing of lighting control equipment in our production cell.

In addition to managing the team, you will personally engage in the production process to ensure efficient operations and quality outputs.

You will also be responsible for reporting progress on orders and maintaining regular contact with other internal departments as necessary.

Responsibilities

Team Management:

Work closely with the Demand Planning team to ensure products are delivered on time to stock or directly to customers.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to manufacturing procedures.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.

Active Participation in Production:

Lead by example and actively engage in the manufacturing process.
Perform handson tasks, such as assembly, testing, and quality checks, alongside the team.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production flow and efficient resource utilization.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and meet quality requirements.
Conduct regular checks to ensure equipment is calibrated, functional, and used correctly.
Maintain accurate documentation and records throughout the production process.

Production Monitoring and Reporting:

Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and take proactive measures to meet delivery schedules.
Report on production throughput, efficiency, and any issues affecting the production timeline.
Collaborate with other internal departments to address any crossfunctional concerns.

Safety and Equipment Maintenance:

Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the team.
Regularly inspect and maintain safety equipment and tools.
Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.

Continuous Improvement:

Continuously identify opportunities to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Conduct root cause analysis to address production problems and implement corrective actions.
Encourage and support team members in generating improvement ideas and implementing changes.

Relevant Skills and Experience Required

Working experience on Electromechanical production
Thorough understanding of applicable Quality Control processes and procedures.
Proficiency in operating various production equipment and tools, such as crimp tools, wire cutters, soldering equipment, etc.
Ability to motivate and inspire team members through handson involvement and leadership.
Indepth understanding of established Team Manufacturing values and customer service policies.
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
